Transparency

Canterbury Wake is a committee built upon trust, honesty and transparency. In an effort to maintain transparency each member of the committee must submit a conflict of interest document, detailing any personal, business interests or friendships they may have with brands or persons within the NZ wake scene that the club could have dealings with.

A full list of any committee members conflicts is available upon request. Please use the email form, or call the number on the contact page to request this information.

Our policy is detailed below.

Conflict of Interest

Conflicts of interest arise when Members or the Committee are influenced, or may appear to be influenced, by personal interests versus the Club’s interests.

Examples include when a Member accepts monetary reward as an event organizer or participant.

If a situation arises where a family member, friend or associate or an organisation may be a beneficiary of a decision or action of the Committee or a Member, it is the proactive responsibility of the Member or Members to openly declare the situation to the Committee and for the Committee to openly declare the situation to the Members.

Where a conflict of interest has been identified, the Chairman should be advised immediately in order to facilitate a resolution. In doing so it is important to note there is an expectation that any conflict of interest will be resolved in favour of the interests of the Club.
